Michelle Cardoso
Resident Artist / Dancer
Michelle is a founding member of alight dance theater. She began her formal training at White Marsh Ballet Academy before attending Carver Center for the Arts and Technology. Michelle has performed works by Elizabeth Ahearn, Glenna Blessing, Kathy Brenner-Lasakow, Jayme Host, Matthew Rushing and Amanda Thom Woodson. She was awarded the Senior Award for Outstanding Technique from Caver Center in 2006 and is a Maryland Distinguished Scholar in the Arts for Dance. Michelle currently works as an account coordinator at Ketchum Public Relations in Washington, D.C.
Michelle will be performing in Monica Warren Schaeffer's Shadowmark at Next Reflex Dance Collective's Places in Space program at Dance Place in Washington, D.C. on June 18 and 19, 2011. She is also cast in Angella Foster's Truth Be Told, which will premiere at Dance Place in Washington, D.C. on January 21 & 22, 2012 and then be restaged for the Greenbelt Arts Center on February 17 & 18, 2012.
