A Body Divided (2008)

Performed at
Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center

& Dance Place (Washington, D.C.)

In A Body Divided, four dancers wearing ipod earbuds and oversized Hollywood white sunglasses are each armed with a roll of blue painter’s tape which they use to sub-divide the stage space and create their own isolated worlds parallel to those around them. The work takes a humorous look at the way technological devices, our own inattentiveness, and even fashion trends work together to isolate us, shaping a world of our own inside and within public spaces.
